Popular Regency Romance Tropes

A list of some of the most popular and common tropes for regency romance novels that are clean or with a hint of spice.

What are some of your favorite regency romance tropes?

I’m taking a short break from writing Jane Austen fanfiction (after having completed my first three Pride & Prejudice variation novels). But don’t worry – I WILL be back with more variations – there are too many JAFF tropes!

BUT I’ve had this idea for a regency romance novel series swimming around in my brain, and I think I want to give it a try. It will be 6-7 books, shorter and lighter than my P&P variations, and still clean.

But before I jump into them, I want to know what YOU, my readers, like the most! Which of these tropes are your absolute favorites?

  1. I really love a righteous, falling-in-love story. Two people that are awkward like Darcy, but are truly a good person, in love with a girl that may also be plain and awkward, but is inwardly good and righteous and obedient, etc. I truly believe that there are people like that in the world and our daughters and sons need to see it. Maybe a modern AND clean version on good, ole Pride and Prejudice that hasn’t been done (Is that possible!?!?)
