My Favorite P&P Variations Where the Bennets are Wealthy/Titled

Here’s a list of the best Pride & Prejudice variations where Elizabeth and/or the Bennets are secretly wealthy or titled.

Hey everyone!! This week, I’ve got my favorite Pride & Prejudice variations where Elizabeth and/or the Bennets are wealthy or titled.

A few weeks ago, I shared a list of the most common Pride & Prejudice tropes, and I told you about my favorite fantasy Pride & Prejudice varations, as well as my favorite forced/arranged marriage scenarios.

One of Darcy’s biggest stumbling blocks is that Elizabeth and her family are far below him in wealth and social status. There are a lot of variations written where either the Bennets or just Elizabeth herself are really wealthy or have a title.

Here are some of my favorites!

These first two aren’t on Amazon, but you can read them for free online!

Connections Redux: Mr. Bennet is shaken by the untimely deaths of his siblings, and later his first wife. His response to these tragedies, his much happier second marriage, and the family connections resulting from it, drastically alter the trajectories of his daughters’ lives.

Henry’s Legacy: Reclusive Mr. Bennet lives two lives, one at Longbourn and one in top of London society.

All That This Entails: A Pride & Prejudice Variation by Noell Chesney

ELIZABETH BENNET COULD SCARCELY CREDIT THE NEWS in All That This Entails: A Pride & Prejudice Variation by Noell Chesney. A letter sent to her father, from relations she did not know existed, informed them that untimely and unfortunate events would result in Mr Bennet inheriting the dukedom of Everard. In the blink of an eye, the Bennets’ lives are transformed— Elizabeth and her four sisters are wealthy, titled, and the talk of the ton.

AT PEMBERLEY, FITZWILLIAM DARCY is still stinging from Elizabeth Bennet’s rejection of him at Hunsford when he learns the extraordinary news. Elizabeth Bennet—now Lady Elizabeth—has been elevated in an extraordinary fashion and is soon to become the most sought-after lady of the season.

But Darcy’s heart still belongs to her, as much as it ever did, and he sets off for London determined to win her hand. But can he prove to her that he has changed, particularly when her entire life has just altered?

Consequence & Consequences: “Ooops” A Regency Romance inspired by P&P by Sydney Salier

Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy considers himself to be a man of consequence in spired by P&P by Sydney Salier

When he meets Miss Elizabeth Bennet while visiting with his friend in Hertfordshire, he is captivated by her lively wit and sparkling eyes. But her lack of wealth and connections make an attachment impossible for him to consider.

But there is something she does not tell him. She had just found out that her father was the heir to the Duke of Barrington, making Darcy’s attitude ridiculous.

Is there a way for Darcy and Elizabeth to have a HEA?

A Change of Fortunes: A Pride and Prejudice Variation by Shana Granderson

What if, unlike canon, the Bennets had sons? Could it be, if both father and mother prayed to God and begged for a son that their prayers would be answered? This is what happens in A Change of Fortunes: A Pride and Prejudice Variation by Shana Granderson. If the prayers were granted how would the parents be different and what kind of life would the family have? What will the consequences of their decisions be?

In many Pride and Prejudice variations the Bennet parents are portrayed as borderline neglectful with Mr. Bennet caring only about making fun of others, reading and drinking his port while shutting himself away in his study. Mrs. Bennet is often shown as flighty, unintelligent and a character to make sport of. The Bennet parent’s marriage is often shown as a mistake where there is no love; could there be love there that has been stifled due to circumstances?
