Well-connected and in possession of a good fortune, their entry into society should have been a triumph. However, their long-awaited first season in London proves a disaster, and the resulting scandal sends the Bennets fleeing to the wilds of Derbyshire.

His sons beg to keep company with their new playmates, the young Bennet twins. His mother-in-law sets her cap for Admiral Bennet. Worst of all, Darcy cannot get his mind off a certain bewitching Miss Elizabeth Bennet, but she has sworn never to let another gentleman near her heart.

  1. I’ve read only one or two where they had a son……one was when Mrs. Bennet was in her 40’s and Lydia was 15. Now that you have cited several other books where a son is born to the Bennet’s in your newsletter, I’ll have to start a “to be read” list. Thanks!

Another premise that might be interesting for an author to pursue….(hint, hint)…..
we’ve all read stories where either Mr. Bennet, Mrs. Bennet, Lydia, Kitty, Jane, Mr. George Darcy, Lady Anne, Georgiana, Lady Catherine, Anne, Mr. Collins, Mrs. Lucas, Wickham, or Louise Hurst have died BUT I’ve never read a story where Caroline has “left this mortal coil”. Why not? Why has Caroline seemingly become sacrosanct? Caroline is a character in P&P we love to hate. Why not do away with her?
If there is such a story, would you please tell me the title/author? I’d love to read it.

Always a big fan, Linda Clark

    1. You’re welcome! I hope you enjoy them!

I like that idea of Caroline dying. I think I’ve only read one, but it was so long ago that I can’t remember anything about the title or storyline. I’ll write this down on my list of ideas for future books!

  2. I would like to read one where the Bennets have a late in life child, but it’s another girl. Many have a son born once the Bennets have their act together, and will not be destitute when Bennet dies. I’d like to see Mr and Mrs Bennet happy with another daughter.
