Some of y’all who have read my book “A Dear, Sweet Girl” have emailed me with issues trying to get the epilogue….I just want to apologize for that.

Usually, I include the epilogue as part of my book, and then provide something else as the free “lead magnet” for signing up for my newsletter.

Recently, I noticed that quite a lot of “traditional romance” novels have been using the epilogue as the lead magnet. I decided to give it a try with this book.

It clearly failed quite miserably. Many people struggled to know how to use the QR code when they were reading on their phones, and others who did sign up were sent to spam.

Some people even felt robbed by having to sign up for a newsletter to get the epilogue when they’d already paid for the ebook – almost like a bait-and-switch.

That was never my intention.

While newsletters are vitally important to authors, and this experiment was successful in that I’ve literally had over 300 times the number of signups (more than 1,000, as opposed to the usual 25-50) than for any of my other books, my relationship with my readers is more important.

I can therefore promise not to do it again. I’ll go back to creating another kind of freebie for newsletter signups and leave the epilogues in the books.

Additionally, the epilogue has been added to the ebook. Amazon should be updating individual owner copies accordingly.

Also, I’ve included the PDF of the epilogue here for anyone who has had issues getting it to download from the QR code.
